This mower’s handle is padded for comfort and an easy grip. It can be adjusted to 3 different positions and has a push button start up. There is no safety bar across the handle, but instead, there is a lever to hold down on the right side.
The wheels are the same size, both measuring 7 inches. The steel deck is 19 inches and very durable, but heavier than some other electric mowers. Some very small parts are plastic though, and this mower is mainly intended for smaller yards. You can easily adjust the height with a single lever that goes from 1.25” – 3.5”.
The RM202A is a 2-in1 mower, meaning that you can only use the side discharge or mulch. Most people like to mulch, since that fertilizes your lawn, and there’s no extra work to do because the machine does it all as you go along. POWER
This is a corded mower, so you will have to buy an extension cord if you don’t already have one, that is long enough for the length of your yard. It should be at least a 12-amp cord, because that is what this mower requires to run.
If you are new to electric mowers, the cord can be somewhat of a nuisance when you start out. Once you develop the best pattern to mow with, it shouldn’t be a bother at all, except folding it back up. There are cord reels you can buy, which will make that job so much easier.
Some people prefer corded mowers over cordless because there are no batteries to deal with, whether it’s replacing expensive ones or having to stop mowing to recharge them. The corded models are run with the electric from your house, a constant supply of it, so you can mow however long you need to.
But if you hate dealing with a cord, you might want to check out some cordless models I have reviewed. If you have a small or medium yard, you shouldn’t run out of power with a cordless mower, and you can recharge after mowing. Some mowers come with more powerful batteries than others.
STORAGE
The handle does not fold over, like some mowers, to save space. However, it might be able to be taken off for storage. Most of this mower is steel, so you won’t want to store it outside if you get bad weather. It weighs 57 pounds, which is on the heavier side of electric mowers, so you might need help to store it.
