The Black & Decker CM1936ZA electric lawn mower comes already assembled and is started with a key and a pull of the handle. The handle itself does not have good padding so you might have to wear gloves to avoid any blisters or soreness on your hands. The safety bar runs along the front of the handle, which you must keep pressed down as you are holding the handle to mow.
This mower is best for yards up to 1/3 acre and has a single lever for a height adjustment of 1.5-3.5 inches. It is a 3-in-1 mower, which means you can mulch, bag or let the grass discharge from the rear. Most people choose to mulch, as it fertilizes their lawn and leaves less work to do during or afterward. If you like using the discharge feature but hate a rear discharge, there are other mowers that have a side discharge, which is less messy.
The rear wheels are bigger than the front ones for easy maneuverability and the cutting deck is 19 inches, so you may get a cutting path of 18 inches. It’s usually an inch less than what the deck measures. The mower is made with a very durable plastic so it will never rust.
POWER
This is a 36V mower and comes with a lead acid battery which can last up to an hour, depending on the condition of your grass (wet, thick, etc). Lead acid batteries will last longer than lithium-ion batteries, but lithium will be much lighter. The mower weighs 90 pounds, which is one of the heaviest electric mowers, so it might be a little harder to push and move around.
There are two drawbacks to a cordless mower, one being if you have a huge yard, you might lose power, and the second one is batteries are very expensive to replace when they die. So, you have to consider those possibilities before buying one. However, not having to deal with a cord is something some people love, and if you have a smaller yard, you won’t need to charge the battery at all while mowing.
STORING The Black & Decker CM1936ZA
The handle folds down over the mower for easy, space saving storage. If you live in an area that has winters, you should not store the battery outside as it may freeze. You can store the mower in a shed, but the battery must remain in a warmer place and continue to be charged all winter. The battery will slowly lose power as it sits there, so you must keep an eye on it throughout the winter.

There is a 2-year limited warranty on this mower for residential use. It is not intended for commercial use or rentals, and there is a lifetime warranty on the deck itself.
