Welcome to the GreenWorks Pro GLM801602 Electric Lawn Mower. It is cordless and comes with a battery and a charger.
Greenworks Lawn Mower Pro GLM801602 PARTS: Quality?
This mower has a padded handle for comfort and it adjusts to 3 different heights. Not all electric mowers have that ability, so that’s pretty great. To turn the mower on, you just have to push the button and hold down the bar on the handle.
There is a 3-in-1 feature, which means it mulches, side discharges, or bags the grass for you. The bag is about 13 gallons in size, so you could say the size of a small trash bag. Most people mulch to nourish their lawns, so if you are going to do that, then you will most likely not need the bag anyway. If you don’t want to do either one, you can always let the grass fly out of the side of the mower and rake your yard.
The Greenworks Pro GLM801602 mower’s deck is steel, so you would have to make sure it’s protected from the weather. A lot of mowers are plastic, so if you want more durability, this would be a great purchase. The deck is 21” and the blade is 20”, so you will know exactly how wide your cutting path will be.
There are various height adjustments, with 3.5”-4” being the max height it will cut the grass with. A single lever on the side makes for easy adjustments.
POWER
The Greenworks Lawn Mower Pro GLM801602 comes with a 80V, 4Ah lithium-ion rechargeable battery. There are other models with different battery power. One comes with two 2AH batteries (which is nice if you have a small yard, you can use the extra battery for another electric tool that is compatible), and the other comes with a 5Ah battery. Obviously, the higher the battery amp hours, the longer it will last. The battery for this model will last up to 60 minutes.
A charger is included as well, usually taking about an hour to charge the 4Ah battery. If you bought the 2Ah package mower, it would take 30 minutes for each one.
The Pro GLM801602 has a brushless digital motor that is as powerful as a 160cc gas engine. Brushless motors are a smart tool because they sense how much power they need to put out at any given time. Regular brush motors run at the same speed the whole time.
If you live in a state that gets cold weather, you will need to keep your battery charged to at least 50% if you are going to store it in your shed during the winter. The lower the charge, the more your battery will freeze and it will most likely be useless when you want to use it again.
